With only a few exceptions, autumn has provided beautiful ‘Indian Summer’ days, with clear skies with only a hint of an early morning chill in the air. And if this year has proven anything, the quickest way to get the weather to turn is to plan a Sprite Club run so with that in mind, join us for a run through the hills next Wednesday, 16 April!
With a nod to our members who live in the northern suburbs, the plan is to meet at Campbelltown Memorial Oval (referred to as Crowle Oval in some GPS systems!) in time for a 1015 departure and an 80km lap of the Adelaide Hills, including the 1939 Australian GP circuit, before arriving in Handoff for lunch at Same But Different Café.
For those keen for lunch RSVPs are essential. I’ve booked a table for 12 and I need to let the café know if we are coming or if we need more seats!
Meet: Campbelltown Memorial Oval (off Crowle Road), 16 April
Depart: 1015 with the route taking in Gorge Road, before looping back down North East Road and Tippett Road and then through Cuddly Creek a second time for Lobethal.
Morning Tea: Lobethal Bakery

Following a quick bite and a coffee we will depart for a sedate lap of the GP circuit and then on to Handoff for lunch by 12:00. Note, the average lap speed in 1939 (set by a supercharged MGTA special) was 84mph. I trust that average won’t be beaten on this run….

Please let me know if you are planning to attend so the booking at the Café can be confirmed or amended.
All makes and models of members cars welcome to attend!
