The Mid-Week Run

To-day we held the first mid-week run for our Club. Attending were Garry & Fay Brock (MGB GT), Garry Beaton & Molly (Sprite Mk3a), Miles & Bev Jackson ( Sprite Mk2a) and ourselves in our Bug-Eye. Two couples had to cancel, so it was a small group. Our President joined us for lunch. The weather was not great, but we managed to dodge the worst of it.
The run started at Hazelwood Park winding it’s way through the hills to the Mount Torrens Hotel. On the way we stopped at Johnsons Cordial Factory at Balhannah for morning tea and cordial tasting. While there a huge down pour occurred, but we missed driving through it.The route we took was not direct, but we used some great roads which were mostly deserted. No motor bikes, no cycles.
While the attendance was small I feel we should persist with the concept of the mid-week run, as all agreed it was a good idea. The Hotel great and we had all to ourselves. So when we do it next time please try it out.

CANCELLED! Club Run – May 19th Northern Run

May appears to be a very busy moth for Sprite Club Members, so with very little interest being shown in the 19th May Northern Run (2 persons) the Run has now been cancelled .

Moonta – Kernewek weekend update!

Some members of the club are attending the Moonta Cornish Festival on 24th – 26th May and are having dinner at the Seagate Bistro 171 Bay Road, Moonta at 7p.m Saturday 25th. If you are coming up individually and would like to join us will you please phone the Bistro yourself on 88253270 and add your name to the list. The booking is under the Sprite Club.

The start now is 10:15am for a 10:30am start. Start is at the Hazelwood Park on the Cnr of Howard Tce and Davenport Tce.

New Club Merchandise
Luther has proposed that we update some of our current merchandise. This will include new polo shirts, caps and hoodies (or crew necks?). The proposed colours are detailed below with the standard Sprite Club logo embroidered on them. The cost for the polo will be $40 and if possible we would like to take orders and deposits at the next general meeting (wine and cheese night!).
Mid-Week Run May 15th
We are trying a new concept : The Mid-Week Run. The club now has a growing group of retired people, so here is a chance to enjoy your Spridget mid week. There are certain advantages, such as no ”Sunday drivers”, less motorbikes on the hills, less crowds at the eating venues, and plenty of discounts on meals for seniors.
So if you are going please reply NOW to dslow@tpg.com.au so numbers can be passed on to the lunch venue. Also get your Club points up further.
