All British Day – wash up

All British Day, what a wonderful event. To those 30 members who came up to Echunga, thank you. To all the other members, you really did miss out on a great day.

850 cars were on the oval for display, and there were so many more interested people paying to get in. The venue up at the Echunga oval was very well organized, mind you some rubbish bins would have been good. A large range of interesting stall for the girls were on display and their were more food stalls as well. Members set themselves up under the marqueand all had a great day.

  1. You’re right Barb,it was a very enjoyable day and great weather at the new venue on Echunga’s double oval.I have never seen so many people at the ABD since I have been going. Plenty of shade and room to walk about but not enough bins.
The organizers say the have room for another 100 cars to be displayed as the All British Day grows (we hope) in the future. Importantly, there is a lot more room for the paying public to park, up to 10,000 cars if required!

Amongst all that wonderful British automotive machinery was a car in our midst that we have heard so much about and I believe it’s appearance should not pass without acknowledgement.
That car is the Bugeye Sprite of Don Cardone. I’m not sure how long the restoration has been going on for, about five times the gestation period of a elephant I would guess! But the wait was worth it! Don’s done a great job on his Sprite with a lot of attention to detail and a very well finished car. I think we’ll all look forward to seeing it on a future club run.
