Another of the generous and supportive businesses who has graciously offered to support the Sprite Club and our 2026 Nationals program is Mark Boxer of Hoon TV fame and two of his business, 3FootedMonster and his latest venture, Hoon Coffee!
What is a 3 Footed Monster you ask? For those of you who have seen my Midget festooned with cameras on car runs, my mounting system of choice is the 3FootedMonster (https://www.3footedmonster.com/). Designed by Mark and manufactured right here in South Australia, the 3FootedMonster is the result of years of him crawling around in the cockpit and under the dashboards of racing cars.
You might not know, but Australia invented the ‘in car camera’, with the likes of Peter Williamson carrying the first ever in car camera around Bathurst in about 1979 in his Celica and George Fury entertaining many with his live commentary over the top of Bathurst in his crazy Bluebird becoming a staple of motorsport coverage within a few short years. One bulky camera has quickly become many small cameras, including one looking at the drivers feet as they brake, shift and accelerate. Having cable-tied many cameras into many footwells for many races, Mark believed there had to be a better way and so was borne the 3 Footed Monster.
These amazing little devices make mounting a camera to capture footage from your car easy. The patented feet adhere to any steel surface and has been tried and tested on drag racing where the cars accelerate to over 200mph in a blink, survived countless laps of the Nuremburg Ring, The Bend and dozens of other tracks and stuck like limpets to my Midget all the way to Albury and back.
Best of all, if you want to remove it, it takes virtually no effort at all. Sticks like glue at over 200mph yet twists off with the lightest of effort and doesn’t damage the paint work at all.
Have you ever watched the Street Outlaws series on TV? A 3FootedMonster is often used by the film crew for the racing scenes. Simple and secure to attach and quick to remove when you need!
The mounts are machined here in South Australia by local precision machining companies (including Club supporter Kennewell CNC) and are assembled by the team down at Orana Industries. Affordable world class equipment, made right here in SA.
Mark is the owner and content producer for Hoon TV, a YouTube channel many into motorsport and modified cars are familiar with and uses his channel to show the work he does building street-machine show cars. He also loves a good coffee! Frustrated with not finding a consistent blend he liked, he created his own! Roasted down on Richmond Road, Hoon Coffee comes in three strengths – 98 Octane (mild), E85 Race (medium) and Methanol (strong). He had a decaffeinated ‘EV Blend’ but its been discontinued. The beans are only roasted when you place your order and the bag(s) dispatched the same day, so you know its fresh!
Oh – and the guy most likely carrying the camera when the reporter runs from car to car down pit lane for interviews and updates mid race – that’s probably Mark. The stories he can tell … I’ll try and get him in for a meeting next year!
If you are looking for a mounting system for your camera, keep the 3FootedMonster in mind. Its the original system and still the best! His coffee is damned good too – there’s three bags on their way to my house as we speak!
